# Mininova tips nad presets

Here will be some of my custom presets for Novation Mininova and some tips and tricks how to use it.

## custom presets

**EricHorn** ([EricHorn.syx](https://svita.cz/archiv/music/presets/mininova/EricHorn.syx)) wavetable based trumpet-like sound inspired by [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWAAtk6GpfM) by Eric Bowman.

**Clavioline** ([Clavioline.syx](https://svita.cz/archiv/music/presets/mininova/Clavioline.syx)) - emulation of of vintage synth called Clavioline. See this [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JK0m1moewgA&pp=ygUXY2xhdmlvbGluZSB2aW50YWdlIGtleXM%3D) to learn more about original instrument.

As original instrument, it does not uses any knobs but switches, in this case Mininova's pads:

1. enables vibrato
2. makes vibrato faster
3. makes vibrato deeper
4. makes sound more mellow
5. makes sound less mellow
6. makes sound percussive
7. adds subbass
8. adds sub-subbass

**OrganStops** ([OrganStops.syx](https://svita.cz/archiv/music/presets/mininova/OrganStops.syx)) - simple patch emulating church organ by mixing sines. Plot twist is that you can use pads as organ stops:

1. 16 feet
2. 8 feet
3. 4 feet
4. additional harmonics
5. different harmonics

**Fnitial** ([Fnitial.syx](https://svita.cz/archiv/music/presets/mininova/Fnitial.syx)) - simple but usable flute-like sound.

**Pnitial** ([Pnitial.syx](https://svita.cz/archiv/music/presets/mininova/Pnitial.syx)) - I accidentaly created not bad synthpop piano sound. Pads enables effects:

1. delay
2. phaser
3. reverb

Presets are subject of further improvement.

## tips and tricks

- use two reverbs with different settings (e.g. long SmallRoom and short LargeHall) in series to have more rich and accoustic sounding sound
